HOW TO: Post Facebook Status Message to Selected People

How to customize your Facebook Status Message?
Status Message play an important role not in Facebook but in everyone’s life. There are serious cases in which people had got into trouble because of their status in Facebook. We keep adding everyone in Facebook but we are not aware about the fact that whatever we update goes to everyone in your friends list. But there are options to customize. It works in such a way that only selected friends of you will be able to see it. Follow the steps to update customized status on Facebook
  1. Enter your status and click the lock icon immediately down, next to the ‘Share’ button as shown in the picture
  2. You will get a drop down box with four options and click the ‘Customize’
  3. A pop-up window appears and from th drop down next to ‘these people’ select ‘specific people’ option
  4. Start typing the name of your friends to whom you want that status should appear in the feed
  5. You can add a ‘Friend List’ too.
NOTE: Selected friends will never know that you have customized that status to appear in their feed. Rather it appears as a usual status update from you.

How to hide a status message from selected friends?
  1. Enter your status and click the lock icon immediately down, next to the ‘Share’ button as shown in the picture
  2. You will get a drop down box with four options and click the ‘Customize’
  3. A pop-up window appears and at the bottom of that window you have the option of ‘Hide this from’. Start typing the names from whom you want to hide.
  4. You can make these settings as default by checking the option ‘Make this default setting in the bottom’

    I have made lists out of all my frnds on facebook.. However, this does not help me in preventing posts to be published for lists… i have to name all frnds i want to hide from…

    any way to hide post updates from list of frnds?

    Hi Satyam,in the above screenshot there is a column called “Hide from these people”….type your list name in that text box and tick the option”Make this as my default setting” such that ur updates will be permanently hidden from those people…..if u still find problem post back i will help u

    I have the problem that i share a link on my wall only to specific users with specific languages (all but german). The problem is, that not everyone could see this link, e.g. users with language setting English-UK could not see the link, although i customized it to be shown for En-UK?
    Anyone encountered this problem before?
